In the game BOXBOY!, players must use their creativity to think outside of the box in order to save a world that is in danger. Players take control of Qbby, who they must guide through more than 20 puzzling worlds by creating boxes to traverse tricky landscapes and obstacles. As players progress, they will unlock special items such as Shielding Afro or other boxy defenses, which help protect Qbby from enemies. By completing stages, players can also earn square costumes like superhero outfits for their character.

Box Boy! is a beloved platformer video game released by HAL Laboratory and Nintendo in 2015. It follows the adventures of Qbby, a box-shaped character who must navigate various levels using boxes he can spawn from his body. The core mechanic of the game is based on puzzle-solving with these boxes, as they allow players to perform a variety of tasks such as reaching high ledges or crossing large gaps, holding down switches, or blocking deadly lasers. Additionally, by hooking these boxes onto ledges while Qbby remains attached he can pull himself up.

Each level features one or more crowns that must be collected in order for the player to progress further into the game; however if too many boxes are used during any given level then these crowns become uncollectable. These crowns unlock additional worlds as the game progresses and medals obtained from clearing levels can be spent on extras such as costumes and bonus levels.
