Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is an action-adventure video game set in a dark and destroyed world. The Earth's alliance with the Heavens has been threatened by a powerful, malevolent force known as the Lords of Shadow. In this post-apocalyptic land, souls of the dead wander without rest, while creatures of evil roam freely wreaking chaos and death upon the living. Gabriel, a member of the Brotherhood of Light, sets out to save his beloved wife who was brutally murdered by these forces and her soul trapped for eternity. He must travel across this shattered land to defeat the evil tyrants and bring balance back to the world using their powers. Armed with his Combat Cross weapon, Gabriel must traverse snowy mountain ranges, Gothic castles and undead wastelands in order to end their rule once and for all.
