Outlast is a horror video game set in the desolate mountains of Colorado. The player takes on the role of journalist Miles Upshur who has been tipped off by an inside source about the secretive activities going on at Mount Massive Asylum, recently re-opened by Murkoff Corporation's "research and charity" branch. Upon breaking into the facility, Miles discovers something walking a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something entirely different. His only hope for escape lies with uncovering what lurks at the heart of Mount Massive.
