Splatoon is a four-on-four multiplayer action game for the Wii U that allows players to compete in turf war competitions. Players take control of characters and spray ink on the ground around them while trying to blot out opposing team members. Characters can turn into squid-like creatures and swim through their own teams ink, giving them the ability to glide up and down walls and under floors. The intuitive controls made possible with the Wii U GamePad's gyro sensor make it easy to look around and aim, while also providing an on-screen map which displays the entire arena at a glance.
