The Rumble Fish 2 is a fighting game developed by Dimps, which first saw release in 2004 as the sequel to their original title The Rumble Fish. This game was one of Dimps’ first forays into the world of competitive 2D fighting games and paved the way for their eventual work on Street Fighter IV & V. Despite never seeing an official console release, The Rumble Fish 2 eventually made its way onto Atomiswave hardware in 2012; and then unofficially onto Dreamcast in 2020 with yzb’s porting efforts.

At its core, The Rumble Fish 2 offers players a unique experience that blends vector animations with complex system mechanics and a wide variety of characters with varied playstyles. Its open-ended chain combo system allows players to experiment and find new ways to approach each fight while still providing some structure to keep things interesting—making it perfect for those who want something deeper than just button mashing, but easy enough for newcomers to pick up quickly.
