The Last of Us is an award-winning video game developed by Naughty Dog and released in 2013. It follows the story of Joel, a survivor of a fungal outbreak that has decimated humanity twenty years before. He is tasked with smuggling Ellie, a fourteen year old girl, to the Fireflies, a militia group located somewhere in the post-apocalyptic United States. The game combines elements from third person shooter games as well as stealth and survival genres to create an immersive experience for players.

Players are challenged with navigating through hostile environments while avoiding detection from enemies such as military patrols and infected humans known as “clickers” which have been taken over by parasitic fungus. Stealth plays an important role in the game due to its difficult combat system; players must rely on their wits rather than brute force when engaging in fights against foes or traversing through dangerous terrain.
