However, video game Sym is doing just that by exploring this mental health issue within its puzzle-platformer style. Players take on the role of Josh, a teenage boy who must reconcile and balance two contrasting worlds - his perception of reality and the world he created to avoid his fears.

The visuals are based off of classic 16-bit graphics which serve as both an homage to retro gaming while also adding a unique charm and atmosphere all its own. The gameplay consists of 3D platforming with puzzles scattered throughout various levels across different dimensions. Some puzzles may require you to switch between different perspectives or manipulate objects in order for them to fit together properly in order for progression through the level.
