The game follows the life of a mother lynx as she gives birth to her cubs and embarks upon a journey of parenthood where nurturing her cubs is paramount for their survival. It features more elaborate gameplay than its predecessor, such as stamina management, different types of movements including jumps, and a variety of prey animals which can be hunted in order to feed your family.

In addition to hunting there are also several maternal features available; players can call their cubs closer with the use of vocalisations or scents in order to keep them close by when danger arises. They must also make sure they drink water from rivers during hot days in order to stay hydrated - this requires careful monitoring as too much or too little could prove fatal for your young offspring!
