Sentinel: Descendants in Time is an adventure game from the late 2000s that follows protagonist Arok as he searches for riches and knowledge within the Tastan Caverns. Throughout his journey, players will encounter a female sentinel programmed to guard these sacred caverns, whose dark purpose may impede progress through more than 20 puzzles found throughout the game.

The eight different worlds featured in Sentinel each have their own unique environment, ranging from snowcapped mountains to active volcanoes. As Arok progresses through these diverse environments, he must solve increasingly difficult puzzles using items collected on his travels and hints provided by a built-in system. This hint system can be invaluable when attempting to overcome some of the games trickier challenges.

In addition to its challenging gameplay elements, Sentinel also features stunning visuals utilizing 3D technology not seen before in this type of adventure game at the time of its release.
