The game features an array of authentic weapons for players to use, as well as new multiplayer modes allowing up to 32 players from different armies such as American, British and Japanese forces. The game puts you directly into Pvt. Thomas Conlin's shoes, allowing you to experience his story firsthand as he struggles to survive amidst intense combat and insurmountable odds.

The game begins on Tarawa, where Pvt. Conlin is among a group of Marines preparing to land on the beachhead under heavy fire from entrenched Japanese forces.
