Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is a third-person shooter video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Rockstar Games. It is the sequel to 2001's Max Payne, and follows former NYPD officer turned vigilante protagonist Max Payne as he continues his quest for revenge against those responsible for murdering his family. The game was critically acclaimed upon its release, with some critics hailing it as one of the best games ever made.

In Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, players assume the role of both Max and Mona Sax in a few levels. Initially, players start out with only a 9mm pistol but they will be able to access more weapons such as handguns, shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles and hand-thrown weapons as they progress through the game. To help guide them along their journey are narrated cutscenes; these provide exposition about what objectives need to be completed next via internal monologue from Max himself which outlines what needs to be done next.

The gameplay mechanics have been upgraded significantly since the first installment with realistic gunplay thanks to physics engine that simulates bullet trajectories accurately when fired at targets or objects within certain ranges allowing players to truly experience being an action hero like never before!
