Machinarium (2009)
Machinarium is an independent puzzle/adventure game developed by the makers of popular web-games Samorost and Samorost2. In this game, players take control of a small robot who has been thrown out to the scrap yard behind a city. The objective is for him to return and confront the Black Cap Brotherhood in order to save his robot-girl friend. Along the way, he must solve puzzles in order to progress through each level until he reaches his final destination. Players will face unique challenges as they travel across unknown lands while using their wits and skillsets to overcome obstacles presented before them.

Machinarium: An Award-Winning Adventure Game

The game takes place in a steampunk world full of mechanical creatures, puzzles, riddles and secrets to uncover. It features hand drawn visuals as well as an original soundtrack with jazz tunes that immerse you into its atmosphere even further. There are no dialogues or tutorials - all communication between characters is done with animations and gestures only! Players must explore their environment and solve puzzles in order to progress through the story.
Machinarium has received several awards for its unique gameplay including multiple BAFTA nominations as well as being nominated for Best Independent Game at 2008's IGF Awards (Independent Games Festival). It also won an Excellence in Visual Art award at IndieCade 2009 (International Festival of Independent Games) plus many more accolades since its initial release back in October 2009 across multiple platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch etc..
