Players take on the role of private investigator Miles Fordham as he attempts to solve cases for his clients while also tracking down the killer of his partner. The game takes place in a fictional city called New Bretagne which combines elements from Victorian England and American Industrial Revolution, creating a unique setting full of intrigue and mystery.

In Lamplight City players will explore the bustling streets of New Bretagne, searching for clues or interviewing potential suspects as they investigate each case. As you progress through each investigation you'll be able to make decisions that influence how your story unfolds, allowing for multiple different endings depending on what choices are made. Along with traditional point & click adventure gameplay there's also an element of resource management involved; managing your time effectively can lead to more successful investigations while neglecting certain tasks can result in failure and even death!

The visuals are stunningly detailed thanks to hand-drawn artwork that brings life into every corner of this alternate reality. On top of this there's an excellent soundtrack composed by Ben Prunty (FTL: Faster Than Light) which helps set the mood perfectly throughout each playthrough.
