Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an action-adventure video game that was released for the Nintendo DS in 2009. Developed by Rockstar Leeds, it was the first Grand Theft Auto game to appear on a handheld console and received critical acclaim upon its release. This installment of the series is set within Liberty City, which has been divided into four islands - Algonquin (the central island), Broker (southeast), Bohan (north) and Alderney (west).

The story follows Huang Lee, a Chinese-American gangster who returns to his home borough of Liberty City after his father's assassination in order to reclaim his family honor. Players must help Huang navigate through this dangerous criminal underworld as he uncovers the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad syndicate.

Players are able to explore their environment using touch screen controls on their DS devices; they can also interact with various characters throughout their adventure, engaging in missions that involve car chases, shootouts with rival gangs or exploring other parts of town for evidence or items related to missions.
