Fable is an action role-playing video game series developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Microsoft Games. The game series includes Fable, Fable II, Fable III, and the upcoming Fable Legends. It has been praised for its unique take on morality-based storytelling with a focus on player choice and consequence.

In Fable, players’ every action determines their character’s skills, appearances, and moralities. As characters progress from childhood to adulthood to old age throughout the course of the game, they have to make important decisions that shape their lives in meaningful ways. Depending on whether players choose good or evil paths for their characters; people will react differently depending on how they behave in society – with applause for good deeds or mockery for bad ones. Players must also face the consequences of their choices as NPCs (non-playable characters) may remember previous encounters with them or treat them differently based on what actions they took previously.
