All about game EyeToy: Play
The video game "EyeToy: Play" released in 2003, was the first of its kind to make use of the PlayStation 2's EyeToy accessory. This revolutionary game allowed players to interact with their consoles in a way that had never been done before, by allowing them to move their bodies and be detected by a USB camera.
The initial package came with twelve mini-games that could be chosen from, ranging from sports like boxing and soccer, to more creative activities such as painting or decorating cakes. The software would recognize any pixel changes on the video image which it then compared against other objects in order for it to play the game accordingly. Those who achieved high scores were rewarded with being able to take a photo which they can show off and tease others with!
Since its release, EyeToy: Play has come far and spawned many sequels such as "Play 2", "Play 3" and even other spinoff titles like “Kinetic” where you exercise your body instead of just playing games. It is clear that this title has had an impact on how we view gaming today – not only does it create possibilities but also encourages physical activity away from our screens too!
Overall, there is no doubt that EyeToy: Play set the standard for motion detection-based gaming when it launched back in 2003 – paving way for future titles based upon similar ideas; whilst also introducing us all into getting up off our couches and moving around (in front of our TVs!)
