Marathon Megasoft, a mega game publisher, has given him his chance to make a comeback by starring in a new title for next-gen consoles. However, it soon becomes clear that someone is using this game as an attempt to bring about Matt's death once and for all. With the help of QA, he must battle against various enemies from Marathon Megasoft catalogue such as zombies, space marines, cowboys and more in order to keep himself alive. Players can use explosive artillery and combat moves alongside point & cover system (a strategic cover system), upgradeable weapons and interactive melee moves to outsmart foes. Throughout the adventure they will also experience hack effects which alter the game's code on the fly while changing environments during gameplay.
