Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Color is an amazing port of the original Super Nintendo version. The game features all of the levels from the original, as well as new levels and bosses exclusive to this version. This classic platformer has been optimized to fit on a smaller screen, with vibrant colors that bring out its charm even more.

The story follows Donkey Kong and his sidekick Diddy Kong as they set out to reclaim their stolen banana hoard from King K Rool and his Kremling army. Players must guide them through several levels filled with enemies, obstacles, secret paths, hidden items, and collectibles such as coins and bananas. Along the way you’ll come across various animal friends who can help Donkey Kong reach higher ground or take him places he couldn’t get by himself.

Each level is broken up into three areas: Jungle Hijinxs (the overworld), Lake Orangatanga (water stages) and Krazy Kremland (boss battles). As players progress through each area they’ll be able to uncover secrets that open up more parts of each world map including bonus games which reward extra lives or other powerups if completed successfully.

Despite being a portable title released in 2001 it still holds up today thanks to its charming visuals, catchy soundtrack composed by David Wise along with tight controls that make navigating around tricky platforms simple enough while also challenging enough for experienced players alike.
