The video game Dante’s Inferno has been a long-awaited adaptation of the classic, literary work The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Players of this top-down adventure game must guide their character through hell and purgatory to reach paradise. In order to do this they must battle enemies and solve puzzles along the way.
Dante’s Inferno follows closely with its source material in terms of setting and characters; players will come across various beings from both hell and purgatory as they progress through the story including Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery - all monsters from Dante's original text. As well as fighting these beasts there are also different puzzles that need to be solved in order for players to progress further into the narrative such as navigating labyrinths or finding hidden keys.
Players are able to customize their characters weapons which can make them more powerful against some enemies than others; so it is important for gamers to think strategically about which weapons will help them most throughout the game. Although combat plays a large role within Dante’s Inferno there is also an emphasis on platforming elements such as wall jumping or using grappling hooks in order to traverse levels quicker or find secrets that have otherwise remained unseen until then. Overall what makes Dante’s Inferno stand out compared other video games based off literature works is how it manages capture its source material while still being playable and enjoyable for fans of gaming itself; with interesting mechanics coupled with engaging storytelling it's easy see why so many people have fallen love with this title over years since its initial release back 2009!
