Black Rock Shooter: The Game is an action role-playing game set in the Black Rock Shooter universe, created by Huke. Players take on the role of BRS, a powerful fighter with a mysterious past. The game features several missions and objectives that must be completed in order to progress.

Exploration plays an important part of the gameplay as players can explore various areas for items or trigger battles when they come into contact with enemies on the map screen. During battle, BRS uses her rock cannon to attack enemies while also being able to block attacks or sidestep them completely if needed - however it should be noted that overuse of these abilities will cause the system to overheat and leave BRS vulnerable until it cools down again.

Throughout their journey, players will also acquire different abilities which can be equipped and used during battle; these range from offensive abilities such as powerful blasts and sniper rifles all the way up to support skills like increasing stats or defense points.
