Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is a turn-based strategy role-playing video game set in the Netherworld, where strength and power are respected above all. The protagonist of the game is Laharl, who has just become an Overlord but still lacks respect from his peers. He sets out on a journey with his vassals to prove himself worthy of being an Overlord and gain the recognition he deserves. On his travels he encounters a mysterious girl claiming to be his sister as well as powerful demons with grudges against him. Along the way, Laharl discovers that even his own body holds secrets that have yet to be revealed.
